How loud are they?
August 4th, 2008 . by adminHave you ever heard a train blowing its horn and wonder how far away it is? Me too. This thought came upon me one day as I sat waiting for the train to cross the road. In order to answer this question I did some research on the internet and found that train horns can be as high as one hundred fifty to one hundred seventy-five decibels! This is significantly louder than noises we experience on a day to day basis. Normally anything over eighty-five decibels is considered damaging to your hearing, but being at such a distance from a train you will generally not receive the full delivery of such a horn.
