My husband and I put a bid in on a house before we got prequalified for the loan. When we found out we got the bid, we went to the bank to borrow the money. We qualified for less than the price of the house, so we had to come up with a down payment and the closing costs. We had enough in our savings for the closing costs, but we didn’t have the money for the down payment. I borrowed the home loan down payment from my mom and dad. We will have an additional monthly payment for a while, but the loan is interest free.
