February 23rd, 2009 . by admin

My wife and I have been together for the past five years. She is originally from Nebraska. We meant in college in a biology lab class. After about a month of dating we decided to move in together to save money as we were crazy about one another. One thing she taught me about was a game that she use to play involving bean bags. It was kind of a lawn game and we had lots of fun playing it. Its kind of like the game of horseshoes. That summer we played this game a lot. My wife has taught me lots of new things.

Original Freestyler.

February 18th, 2009 . by admin

It took they two years to get this bike out of the vault, but it feels like 30. Actually, it was 30. The year was 1978. The rider was Bob Haro. The sport didn’t have a name yet, but the man had a vision. That vision is locked in time by this bike. The Original Freestyler isn’t a retro bike in the purest sense—it features too many modern conveniences to suffer that fate. Instead, the Original Freestyler is a 21st century interpretation of the bike Bob used to get the ball rolling. Old school or old’s cool? You decide. They only know one thing for certain—this Haro Original Freestyler is rad.

Snowboarding classes made my rides so much easier!

January 16th, 2009 . by admin

I just experienced snowboarding for the first time in early January 2009.  Before I went, I remember being told that it is just like surfing and skateboarding.  Whoever told me that couldn’t be more wrong.  Of course I found this out after my first day.  My rear end and wrists were so sore that I became so discouraged.  I was with a bunch of experienced riders so I did not want to let them down by quitting.  With that in mind I gave in and looked up snowboarding classes for some help.  I was impressed with what I learned and I am happy that I did it.  I know it may sound like the “wimpy” thing to do, but I have no regrets.  By the end of the week I could not believe that I was riding down the black diamond trails.  I llok forward to the next trip with my new found hobby!

A Blast from the Past: Brazil Retro Shirts

January 4th, 2009 . by admin

As an American, I have a limited (OK, make that extremely limited) knowledge of South American sports teams. To me, the sport of football is played with an oblong ball with both teams trying to score touchdowns and field goals.

Football in other parts of the world is the sport I call soccer. So when my oldest son asked for some Brazil Retro Shirts for Christmas, I had to ask him what he really meant.

“You can buy them online, dad. All the kids are wearing them. They’re the current craze,” my son told me.

“OK, I replied, does it matter what team it is?”

“Not really. Just as long as it’s cool,” was all he said.

Found a Great Rangefinder Review Site

December 15th, 2008 . by admin

I was checking out the Leupold GX-II Rangefinder Pinhunter and found this review site.   I appreciated this review because it had feedback from people who have actually used this unit and who have used other rangefinders as well.  That meant that the reviews compared this unit with others.  I also appreciated knowing that this unit is illegal for use in tournaments, not that this is a problem for me!

I am looking at rangefinders for my husband for Christmas and appreciated the insight into the use of the rangefinder without my having to ask my husband and give away the surprise.  These reviewers gave specific feedback on the unit’s ease of use and features as well as the site with the lowest price on the internet.
