Understanding The Ocular Migraine
March 25th, 2008 . by adminOcular migraines are sometimes referred to as ophthalmic migraines, opthalmoplegic migraines and acephalgic or ’silent’ migraines. An ocular migraine is quite rare and is characterized by temporary partial or complete blindness in one or both eyes. Like a common migraine, it can also be accompanied by pain, but this is not necessarily the case and where pain is not present the term ’silent’ migraine is commonly used. Ocular migraines are normally quite short lived and in mild cases can be treated with simple over-the-counter pain medication such as aspirin. In more sever cases however you may need to seek the help of your doctor who will prescribe one or more of a range of medications designed to treat migraine headaches in general.
