My husband and I have two homes. One in Annapolis Maryland and one in Woodstock Vermont. Both of these homes have masonry wood burning fireplaces. However, our home in Vermont has a wood burning fireplace insert. It wasn’t in our home when we bought it but after our first snowy and cold winter we went shopping. There are many different types of wood burning fireplace inserts you can choose from. There are many different styles and some have fans and blowers and filters to blow warm and clean air into your home. We just spent our second winter in Vermont, and we were warm and toasty thanks to our fireplace insert.
